New in 2008-2009

"... speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.  From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work."

Ephesians 4:15-16

Welcome

Happy Summer!  Our Redeemer Lutheran School welcomes YOU!

We are looking forward to the 2008-2009 school year and the many opportunities it will bring to Connect OTHERS to Christ.  Whether we are concentrating on academics, fine arts, technology, or athletics we pray that our words and actions can honor God and   serve one another.  These interactions can and will lead others to the feet of Jesus!

We are blessed to enjoy and profit from many special offerings at ORLS.  In addition to the regular curricular areas, our students also benefit from instruction by specialists in the areas of Spanish, physical education, technology, and music (including band, choir, and handbells.)  Our joint venture with Lutheran Special School and Education Services also allows us to serve students with special needs.

This year our school theme bridges the past academic year and its goal of being  CONNECTED IN CHRIST with our emphasis for 2008-2009 of Connecting OTHERS  to Christ - specifically emphasizing community outreach and service involvement.  At Our Redeemer Lutheran School we recognize that the inter-connectedness between God, families, our staff, and our community allows us to build strong bonds as a Christian family and work in partnership with parents for the good and growth of their children.  At ORLS we seek to help children grow and ‘go’ as adults assisted by experiencing a direct relationship with Jesus, their Savior, through their daily exposure to His Word.

The coming school year we will also undergo our reaccreditation through LCMS National Lutheran School Accreditation.  You will hear (and experience) a lot of activities centered around the following four goals:

Ø       The school lovingly engages students, families and community in activities that serve the church and community by meeting educational and spiritual needs.

Ø       The school operates with the financial resources to achieve excellence in Christian education.

Ø       Every child achieves success to the best of his or her ability through teachers creating an engaging learning environment.

Ø       Our students are prepared spiritually to face the challenges of a world that is not compatible with their Christian faith.

We desire to work with you in the mission God has given you of raising your child(ren).  As we connect through frequent and positive communication between home and school, we pray that God will bless our efforts and allow your family to be CONNECTED and to CONNECT OTHERS to CHRIST!

Have a wonderful and safe summer,

Mary Irish,  Principal at ORLS
