I am a native of Iowa - raised on a farm near the little town of Tripoli, where I spent my time either playing 6-on-6 basketball or playing organ at St. Paul's-Readlyn IA. I was the youngest of 3 girls belonging to Herb & Elvera Blume.
I am a 1974 graduate of Concordia-Seward NE. I've been at Our Redeemer since 1989 - joining the full-time status in 1994. My responsibilities include choral and classroom instruction to Jr. Kdg. through Grade 2 at ORLS - at church I coordinate worship planning with the pastors, work with our contemporary worship teams, am a church organist, and serve as the adult choir director (ORLC Festival Choir). As a music teacher - I desire my little ones to receive instruction, but more importantly - a LOVE for music & singing.
I am married to Bob and mother to Sam ('85) and Hannah ('88).
Some of my favorite things include a daily 3-mile walk; golf in the summer, visiting Iowa whenever possible, loving up our stray cat, Gracie, or watching a good movie. I love the number 84 - the colors of wine red or sage green - and cheer for the Packers...whether they win or not.
My confirmation verse is Romans 1:16 - ORLS often uses Philippians 4:13 (both are strong portions of Scripture). God desires us to use all our unique gifts & abilities to His glory ... and here at ORLS to raise up the next generation of leaders for His kingdom!
