I grew up in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. As there were no Lutheran schools in the area, I attended Sun Prairie public schools through high school and especially enjoyed band, science and art classes. Upon graduating, I continued my education at the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with science as an area of specialization.
My first classroom teaching experience was with the Milwaukee Jewish Day School, where I taught 4th and 5th grade secular classes; sitting in on Judaica (Jewish history) classes helped my knowledge of the Old Testament grow. My husband, Scott, and I joined Our Savior's Evangelical Lutheran Church where our Christian faith was nourished and strengthened.
Through our children, God led us to Our Redeemer Lutheran School. Once our youngest child began first grade, God moved me to return to teaching. Since becoming part of the Our Redeemer family, I have completed Colloquy course work through Concordia University's online program and look forward to becoming a called worker.
