- Mr. Eric Schultz
Above is our theme for the 2009-2010 school year. We do indeed have the opportunity, both in school and outside of school, to proclaim the wonderful hope we have through the power of the Holy Spirit.
In your middle school packets was a sheet listing ways in which you can help ORLS financially. One of these ways is Giving Plus, which is a Thrivent Financial program that matches contributions to ORLS at a 50% rate. For 2008, a new form must be filled out. Also, Thrivent has changed the rules a bit. One must now have a Thrivent product to participate. They no longer offer associate memberships. If you would like to find out more about this, see Mr. Burger or Mr. Schultz.
The online versions of our new math texts are now available at www.classzone.com. There are activities to help students learn, along with the actual book online, so students can do their homework without having to haul their book home.

Geocaching is a treasure hunt-type activity using hand-held Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. Our school was blessed to receive a grant from the Best Buy Corportation, which allowed us to purchase 10 of these receivers, along with 5 digital cameras. We will be using these devices for a number of activities, from geocaching to discover the history of Milwaukee, to orienteering at LuWiSoMo. Below are a number of web sites that are useful in understanding GPS and geocaching.
