Classroom News February 6-10th, 2012
The Spanish lunch was a great success! Thanks to those who helped with the event and those who brought in their food. We learned a lot of new Spanish food words.
· We are singing in church on Sunday, February 5th at the beginning of the 9:30am service and the beginning of 11:00am. Please meet in the fellowship hall on this date at 9:15am and 10:45am. Please make sure your child wears appropriate church clothes. Thanks! We hope to see you in church!
· Next week at Our Redeemer is Reading Week! Many exciting activities are planned to promote and motivate reading. Please have your child bring their favorite book (chapter or picture) for an activity on Monday.
· If your child was like to participate, please return the Jump Rope for Heart permission slip form by Monday, February 13th. This was sent home on Friday. Look at the form for more information. It will be a great event! J
· We are participating in the National A.R. Challenge with Lutheran schools across the nation. The A.R. tests that the students take will go towards our 3rd grade total. This will run through March 9th. Let’s keep reading those A.R. books!
· Keep encouraging your child to read and fill in their Book It calendar! They can also use the minutes they put on their Book It calendar for the Six Flags Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Club log that was sent home last Friday. Each student has the chance to earn a free admission ticket for the theme park. The Book it calendar should be turned in at the end of February, while the Read to Succeed log is due on Tuesday, February 21st.
· The Valentine’s Day party will be coming up soon on Tuesday, February 14th. Remember to bring your valentines for everyone in the class.
