My Summer Vacation
By Thomas
Mrs. Voigt's Class
On my summer vacation we did many things. When we got out of school me, Brady, and Luke saw Indiana Jones. Then the next week we had bad storms. During one of the storms we had to go to a party. It was very scary! The party was fun. For dinner I had a hotdog, potato salad, vitamen water, and fruit. And we played fooseball and Guitar Hero. The next day me, my mom, my sister, and my brother went swimming at the Highlander Elite. At the end of June my family went to Door County. When we got there I went swimming for two hours. When I got up I had breakfast. We had donuts. After breakfast I watched t.v. After that I went down to the pool to swim. We went to the outdoor pool to have lunch. For lunch we had hotdogs, cookies, chips, and fruit. Then I swam with my brother and sister.

Penny graduated from Concordia University in Ann Arbor with a BA in education in 1991. She spent two years teaching Junior High science, math, and art as 8th Grade Homeroom teacher at St. Mark Lutheran School in Brunswick, Ohio. From St. Mark, Penny accepted a call to teach math for 5th through 8th grade at St. Paul Lutheran School in Westlake, Ohio for just one year before returning to Ann Arbor in 1995. Second to being a "full time mom" for nine years, Penny filled in where needed after moving to St. Paul, Ann Arbor. Some of her most rewarding teaching time was spent teaching afternoon kindergarten and algebra.
Penny began an exciting adventure teaching the 4K Preschool class at Our Redeemer in the fall of 2004 and enjoyed every minute of it for 3 years! In addition to teaching 4K in the afternoon, Penny also taught Transitional Math to 7th and 8th graders and the Enrichment Class for students at higher learning levels.
In the fall of 2008, Penny will begin her second year of teaching 3rd grade with Mrs. Voigt. Practice makes perfect!
Penny and her husband, Jim, have three children: Austin (grade 8), Christian (grade 5), and Katherine (grade 3). In addition to spending time with her family, Penny enjoys scrapbooking, triathlons, coffee shops and Chipotle! Her family enjoys bike riding, geocashing, camping, and rock climbing!
