Sparkling Snow Playdough Recipe
Stir together in large pan:
2 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
1 tablespoon of cream of tartar
2 tablespoons of oil
2 cups of water
Cook over medium to medium-high heat. Cook until it sticks together (about 3 minutes). Take it out of pan and let it cool. Knead until smooth. Add glitter. I like to sprinkle several different kinds onto the table and let the children knead the glitter into the dough.
Snowman Puffy Paint
Mix a little glue, shaving cream, and white (or other color) paint together—not an exact science! Paint away, the thicker the better!
Mrs. Schultz’s Mom’s Playdoh Recipe
2 ½ cups flour
½ cup salt
3 T corn oil
1 T alum
2 cups boiling water (add food coloring if desired)
Mix in order given. Add flour if sticky. Do not cover tightly.
Mrs. Irish’s Salt Dough Recipe
1 cup flour
1 T oil
1 cup water
½ cup salt
2 tsps cream of tartar
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan. Use a wooden spoon to stir over medium heat. Stir constantly to prevent sticking. The mixture will be soupy for several minutes and then suddenly it will stick together and can be stirred into a ball. When it thickens, remove from heat and continue stirring. Turn the hot ball out onto a floured suface, and begin kneading as it cools. Make something fun and let it dry. Makes a great volcano!
