THE WEEK IN REVIEW
We spent the first week getting used to school and making new friends. Everyone seems to be adjusting very well. We read about Chester the raccoon in The Kissing Hand, A Kiss Goodbye, and A Pocket Full of Kisses by Audrey Penn. Chester is a little raccoon who has some separation anxiety from his mother on his first day of school. On Thursday, we are going to have a Chester hunt around the school—shhhh! Don’t tell! We are also making Kissing Hand banners. We will bring them home next week. In gym, we sang, Head and Shoulders, And One and Two, and we played Duck, Duck, Goose.
New songs:
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.
We played, “Hickety, Pickety bumble bee, won’t you say your name for me? (Child’s name) that’s your name.
All About Me posters will be coming home soon. Please complete them with your child and return them to school. You may add your child’s picture if you like. Mrs. Root, the afternoon 4K teacher, and I will laminate them and hang them around the room. If possible, please return them by Friday, September 5.
