Parents: Ways to Help Our Classroom
Here are some ways you can help our classroom.
PARENTS:
Ways to Help our Classroom
1. Listen to the children read to you as regularly as you are inclined.
2. Give oral math assessments once every two weeks (no math experience necessary!).
3. Help out once a week in the computer lab—no experience necessary, as the kids know what to do but they may need help reading the screen or spelling words.
4. Go to the public library once a month to check out materials for units of study and once a month to return them.
5. Chaperone field trips as you are able and interested in.
6. Help room parents with the planning and implementing of classroom celebrations and other special events.
7. Volunteer to assist in the classroom with special projects and activities as they happen throughout the year.
8. Remind your child’s teacher about your willingness to help out (teachers sometimes forget these things)!
