Kegley’s Classroom
Dear Parents, November 14, 2008
Happy Friday! It was a great week for a field trip to the zoo and our compliment party. We really had the zoo to ourselves on Tuesday. The animals were very active. Zero was out and some of us even became part of video footage of Zero’s return to the outdoors. The Compliment Party ending up having three parts: Hand held video games, regular boxed games and even a dress-up element. It really had a true class design to the theme. They had a great afternoon on Friday.
RELIGION- Our devotions this week focused on our Old Testament stories: Deborah, Gideon and David.
READING- We read Exploring Parks with Ranger Dockett. Commands, describing words and vocabulary lessons went with our story this week.
MATH- We traded pennies for dimes, measured to the nearest inch and continued practicing our facts this week for Math.
SPELLING- This week we added these words to our “done” list: MADE OVER DID DOWN ONLY. There was work on writing questions, using apostrophes correctly, homophones and the sound of “y” at the end of a syllable this week.
Remember we sing on Consecration Sunday, November 23. All are reminded to stay for the breakfast and fellowship we have scheduled that day.
The PTL has an evening presentation on Internet Safety. It is planned for Monday, November 17 at 7pm. Hope you can come and learn a bit that evening.
Next week we will be completing our battery of IOWA assessment tests. A regular schedule of sleep and food would be appreciated. Getting to school on time, having sharpened pencils and books to read also become part of the preparations for this upcoming week. Take it to heart and help us do well on these tests.
Have a great weekend!
In Christ,
Mrs. Kegley
