Kegley’s Classroom
Dear Parents,
It has been six school days and what have we been up to?
It began with training for Student Led Conferences. Those seemed to go rather well! I am proud of them and I hope you are proud of your student, too.
If you are planning on going to the zoo with us on our Field Trip, remember to be here by 9am on November 11. Everyone should bring a bag lunch (complete with some kind of beverage, please) for that day. Clothing should work with the weather that day. We can walk around the zoo after our program, so please plan accordingly.
Religion- We completed our unit Martin Luther unit.
Reading- Arthur books! We even looked for Marc Brown’s children’s names in the illustration (did you know that one?). Talon, Tucker and Eliza are the names we searched for in the books. Noun work and answering questions about the text was our work.
Math- Sums of 11, adding 10 to a number, tally marks, counting by 5’s, graphing, and fractions (1/2, ¼, 1/8).
Spelling- Words were: PEOPLE MY WHO NOW ITS. Use of these words, suffix endings, and more proofreading lessons this week!
Science- Sources of light, natural and man-made.
Social Studies- Globe and map work of the seven continents and four oceans took up our time last week. “From Seed to Cereal,” process of products was our focus. An all-school mock election was fun on Tuesday. We learned about the President Election process.
Attached to today’s letter is a Book-It certificate, if your child earned one. October’s Book-It goal was a book report, remember that one?
Have an awesome weekend!
In Christ,
Mrs. Kegley
