Get caught being good!
Be at STAR DESK GROUP!
Earn COMPLIMENTS!
Behavior Management in our Second Grade Classroom
Individually-GET CAUGHT!!!
Students will earn tickets “You’ve Been Caught Doing the Right Thing”
Students will need to write their names on the back of their tickets.
Students will need to deposit their tickets in a box for a special prize box drawing on Fridays. Perhaps some Fridays 2 or 3 or maybe 5 students’ names will be drawn.
Desk Groups-BE A STAR GROUP!!!
Students in desk groups will be assigned a group color.
A student from each color group will be given the responsibility to be the group’s monitor for a week or two.
Each group will want to earn stars for keeping their group organized, working together and on-task.
On some kind of classroom display, the group monitor will add appropriate stars when the teacher gives the okay.
The group with the most stars at the end of the week will get some kind of special treat.
Whole Class-COMPLIMENTS!!!
Students will need to earn compliments from other teachers and adults in the school building.
Keep track of the letters earned in the word “Compliments” for the whole class to see, like on the front board or on the math meeting board.
When a teacher, parent, or administrator mentions to Mrs. Kegley about the class doing something good, the class earns another letter in the word.
When the word “Compliments” is spelled, the whole class has a popcorn/movie party or a Popsicle party or an extra recess kind of special privilege.
