2D NEWS
September 5, 2008
We’re happy to be back together after the long weekend. What a relief to have air-conditioning in our classroom! We have been working on our listening skills and waiting our turn to speak. We have also been making new friends as we connect in Christ. This week we heard Mr. and Mrs. Hoeppner explain the mission work they have been doing. We will pray for them and support them as they go to Cambodia later this month to share the Good News of the Gospel.
School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 10. The envelope that came home yesterday needs to be returned with your order by Wednesday.
Book orders and a software order are coming home today. If you would like to place an order, be sure to get it to Mrs. Dobberfuhl by Friday, 9/12. Not all books in the order are Christian. Please use discretion. Checks should be made payable to the book club. Books and software can be ordered as gifts. Just let me know, and I will get them to you privately.
Also coming home today is the permission slip for our field trip to Boerner Botanical Garden on September 25. Please look for it attached to this newsletter.
We sing in church on Sunday, 9/14 in the 9:30 service. All students are expected to participate.
Star Student Week addition to the plans includes a recipe and some cooking. When your child’s week arrives, plan on having someone come in to cook up a favorite recipe with the class. Be prepared to complete a form about the favorite recipe, complete with ingredients and directions, and an explanation of why it is a favorite food.
