The first week of school is over, and we are adjusting to a new year. We are connecting with new friends, new teachers, and new routines. We were all glad to have air-conditioning in our classroom during the warm days.
This week we wrote about our summer and the things that we anticipate this year. We practiced our handwriting and began reviewing the math we learned in first grade. We began our study of creation and took an achievement test in spelling. We read some stories and played some games.
During the next week, we will continue studying the creation and the fall into sin. We will begin reviewing addition facts. We will revisit strategies for decoding words and understanding what we read. We will go to Mrs. Kegley’s room for Social Studies, and take our first spelling test.
