What We Did This Week
Jesus Time: Zacchaeus
Language Arts: Letter and sound of Kk Keely Kangaroo, new word here. Short i word families such as kit, fit, sin, etc. We are sounding out 3 letter short vowel words, listening for all the sounds in a word, and breaking words apart into individual sounds. It would be helpful if you could practice this skill at home. Give your child a word and ask them to give you all the sounds in the word. Or give them the individual sounds and ask them to tell you what the word is. Encourage your child to write by listening for the sounds in a word and then writing the letter the sound makes.
Math: subtracting 2 from an odd or even number, classroom store using dimes and pennies, concept of ½
Art Animal Molas
Next Week
Jesus Time: Good Samaritan
Language Arts: Letter and sound of Qq Queenie Queen. Theme 6: Sunshine and Raindrops, short a and i word families, and new words it, is and here.
Math: tally marks, counting by 5’s, assessment
Art: Old King Cole
