Behavior Management in our
Second Grade Classroom
Individually-Get caught….get a bead!
Yes, children collect beads for good behaviors in our classroom. The beads can be exchanged for items in our BEAD-AGANZA! The children “buy” items from Mrs. Kegley.
ALSO NOTE: Beads may have to be forfeited when homework is forgotten, pencils need to be sharpened in the middle of instruction time, assignment booklets aren’t signed, and other various infractions of school or classroom rules as determined by the students themselves.
Whole Class-COMPLIMENTS!!!
Students will need to earn compliments from other teachers and adults in the school building.
Keep track of the letters earned in the word “Compliments” for the whole class to see, like on the front board or on the math meeting board.
When a teacher, parent, or administrator mentions to Mrs. Kegley about the class doing something good, the class earns another letter in the word.
When the word “Compliments” is spelled, the whole class has a popcorn/movie party or a Popsicle party or an extra recess kind of special privilege.
Desk Groups
If a desk group cooperates and sets high class standards for themselves the “team” colors in a star. Earn seven stars and Mrs. Kegley will bring in a snack for your desk group the very next day!
PLUS….keep your desk nametag in excellent condition throughout the year and you’ve earned yourself a soda straight from the soda machine! Mrs. Kegley’s treat!
